Collections own vehicles:
"The Oracle" 42439 (P439 ORL) has had all its work completed and has gained an MOT. It went to the Colne Valley Railways Bus Rally but will debut at Canvey Bus Rally on the 9th October! This is the first time that The Oracle has been properly used with us since being donated by First Essex.
Our Olympian (L305 PWR) has seen steady progress of panels and other work commencing, this has been done around other members own vehicles so is being done gradually. It is hoped for it to be completed and painted for next years rally season.
AN264's group Volvo Citybus (G641 BPH) has departed for a new life as a Dining bus at Film Flow - From Film Flow has come Leyland Atlantean ROE (KPJ 259W) sister to AN264 already within the group. AN259 made its rally debut at Clacton Bus Rally.
Another vehicle new to the collection is RML2708 (SMK 708F) This is being stored only and is not operational.
The Collections Volvo Olympian made its rally debut at the BusFest in Whittlesey on Sunday 15th May, It is currently in the process of having various body panels changed and preparation for repaint. This is being done over a period of time when members have spare time away from their own buses.
We have a new vehicle in the collection, this being Northern Scottish Leyland Olympian with Eastern Coachworks body, registered TSO 16X. This carries full Yellow Northern Scottish livery, it is currently undergoing work prior to MOT.
Vehicle shortly to be leaving the collection is AN264s group Citybus G641BPH, more details about this to follow.

Here is ex First Eastern Counties 65586 V586DVF, Kindly donated by First Essex to The 816 Group and Ipswich Bus Preservation Group as part of Yeldham Transport Collection members.
This is a Scania L94UB with Wright Axcess-Floline bodywork new to First Ipswich in 1999 as 586, Since then it has been to Norwich, Northampton, Clacton and Colchester ending its Days with First Essex prior to being replaced by Wright Streetlites.
816 Group and IBPG would like to express our thanks to First Essex for the donation of the Scania, it will be seen out and about in 2016. So far it has attended Ipswich Bus Rally and South East Bus Festival (as picture above).
Leyland Leopard Duple Dominant FYX817W new to Grey Green Coaches has sadly been sold for scrap, this was due to being seen as uneconomic to repair any further.
Although its replacement has been found in form of Leyland Leopard Plaxton Paramount FYX816W, sister vehicle to 817, when new carried the same Duple bodywork but was re-bodied by Horlocks coaches at an early age due to fire damage. This coach even though has an paramount body is found to be in much more better structural condition.
This forms part of the 816 Group within YTC.
A new arrival to the Yeldham Transport Collection is ex London & Country 641 G641BPH Volvo B10M Northern Counties Palatine Citybus.
Purchased by The AN264 Group, who used to own and house sister 642 G642BPH here at Yeldham a few years ago. The vehicle was purchased from nearby Amber Coaches of Rayleigh.
For more details please search for the AN264 Group on Facebook.

On 21 November 2015, First in Essex very kindly donated the last step entrance vehicle in the fleet to us. The vehicle concerned is 34305 (L305PWR), a Volvo Olympian with Northern Counties body which has outlasted its brethren by a very wide margin. It comes to us after a long service life and we will be assessing the vehicle over the next few months to formulate a plan for its future. Delivered initially to Yorkshire Rider in Green/Cream, it was transferred very early to Essex where it has remained.
The Collection has once again been selected by First Group to be the recipient of another donated vehicle. This Dennis Dart had served at the Hadleigh (Essex) depot for its entire life and was selected for ongoing preservation as one of last vehicles delivered with an Essex(xJN) registration making it truly local. Again our thanks got to First Group for their kind donation and help in getting the vehicle to us. The bus has already attended the North Weald rally in June 2015 (as shown above), and we look forward to taking it out to other rallies throughout 2015.
Today we are please to announce that First Essex have very kindly donated 42439 (P439ORL) the oldest Dennis Dart remaining in service in Essex to the Collection for preservation. This is a very generous action from First, and we thank them for their generosity and help in making this happen. The bus was looked after very carefully by the team at Hadleigh depot and is in fantastic condition. Look out for her at our Open Day in May and at other events over the coming year. We will shortly create a web page dedicated to the bus, and look out for news about how you can become involved with the Collection and our vehicle(s) in the future.
