A new arrival at the Museuam last weekend is PHA319M, and ex Midland Red Leyland Leopard with Marshall DP49F body. It was previously preserved in the Midlands, and even though it has stood outside for over 2 years, it seems to have stood the test of time very well. It was collected on a cold Saturday morning, and drove from Cannock to Yeldham in under 3 hours, didn't miss a beat all the way, and made all the right sounds. There are some items that need to be done immediately before it can go to rallies and the like, but it is hoped that these will be done by the start of the season this year. It will make a nice addition to my Southdown RE as they both have the same Marshall bodywork so the differences are intereseting to see. It is one of only 6 (I believe) of these vehicles left out of the large fleet that Midland Red owned, and I am very happy to have it under my wing. It is seen here being fuelled and made ready for the drive back to its new home.
