Following an unfortunate incident causing significant damage to the nearside, it is good to report that UAR597W the Eastern National VRT owned by John Day has now had a full body restoration and repaint into Eastern national NBC livery, and very smart it looks too. It is now awaiting application of the fleetnames etc to complete the restoration. We hope to have the VRT out on our Open Day services this year.
Following an extended holiday down in Kent at South East Coachworks, Midland Red 319 is now back at the museum. A simple floor repair, following a rear tyre blowout turned into a full blown restoration with significant chassis and structural repairs along with a full re-panel and paint. She is now looking much better, and we hope to have her out on service on our Open Day on 18 May 2014. We will add a page in the next few weeks to better illustrate the scope of the work that has been done to make sure that 319 has a sound future.
